Four flights. One day. One bag... The Weekender by Bespoke

The Goal:  Pack light enough to bounce between flights on short layovers, but carry enough for my long weekend get-a-way.

The Details: Packing for an upcountry Hawaii weekend is much harder than one thinks - or at least harder than I thought. Located around 3000' above sea level, the temperature at Koele Lodge Lanai drops to under 50 degrees at night and heats up in the afternoon to the standard Hawaii 80 degrees. Packing for a trip like this meant bringing along ample cool weather gear, while not forgetting my favorite aloha shirts & boardshorts for mai tai drinking at the beach.

On any normal trip I would check a larger bag, but this trip was not normal. I needed something that I could get gate to gate with quickly while also being able to get out of the airport just as fast.  Since I would be meeting with some co-workers, I also needed to look professional. For me, this meant not rolling up, for a two night trip, with a 49 pound rolling suitcase pack as if I was moving in.

The Bespoke Weeekender bag turned out to be my saving grace. I got it a few weeks ago and was just waiting for the right time to put it to the test. This trip seemed perfect. The stylish look of the bag helped keep up my professional appearance while having the space and closure system to let me stuff two climate zones worth of clothing in. Traveling with a small lap top backpack and the weekender bag got me through perfectly for the few days that I spend on Lanai. The bag also packs flat enough which makes it the perfect day bag to bring along with larger luggage on longer trips..

The Verdict: Overall, I am extremely pleased with the quality, look and ergonomics of the Weekender bag. This was my first subscription box from Bespoke Post and I am excited to see what else these guys have in store!
