Throwing Shade: Sun glass Buy Guide

Throwing Shade: Our favorite sunglasses brands

Aside from protection from the sun, a nice pair of sunglasses is an accessory that can change the feel of your entire ensemble. A vibrant pair can add flair to a more conservative outfit, and a simple pair can tie together an outfit that's all over the place. While there are plenty of great pairs out there, there are a lot of brands and you might want to take a look at some of the most prominent ones in the market.

Ray-Ban

Ray-Ban is one of the most prominent names in the world of sunglasses. You should definitely know them, even though they are just a sunglass brand. They have a huge variety of glasses, and a long record of quality glasses for less than their designer counterparts. Most of the products that come out of its name are extremely comfortable. For example, the oh-so popular Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses are a pair that integrates performance, style, and comfort.

When you need a different outlook, then consider BVLGARI. If you browse their selection, you’ll find sunglasses that are light, but also made from quality materials. They have a knack for metallic glasses with long smooth curves which avoid sharp angles. They have a luxurious look about them, but not delicate. Out of all their pairs,  I like their Diagono clubmasters in blue and silver the most.

Gucci InjectedGucci

One of the most trusted brands for sunglasses in the whole world, and one of my personal favorites. Sunglasses from Gucci provide the wearer with a bold, yet universally appreciated aesthetic. The main characteristic that set them apart lies in their product rigidity and longevity. For example- Gucci’s Injected Sunglasses has a true combination of rigid black frame, symmetrically shaded lenses, logo on the sidebars and carbon temples.

Giorgio Armani

They use all sorts of materials from plastic to nylon to steel for their frames. Moreover, you can get different shaped lenses through this world-renowned brand. Look through the Giorgio Armani Frame of Life collection. These acetate sunglasses are my favorite from the collection; simple and understated, mostly black with some silver accents such as the logo on the temple and the diamonds on each side of the wearer's eyes.

Like I said earlier, there are a lot more brands like Persol, Arnette, Burberry, Dior, Revo, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch etc. The best way to find a good pair of sunglasses though, is to go out and try different pairs on.
