The uniVERSE case system is a very interesting concept that I've touched on during my previous posts on Otterbox's cases. This system enables swapping modules that attach to your case to add some sort of functionality to your phone. This works via a small slotted rail that is concealed underneath a removable accent plate. You take off the small accent plate and insert whichever accessory that you desire. It can be an extra battery or credit card reader, etc. There are also some accessories like camera lenses which insert at the top of the case.

The uniVERSE cases are available for iPhone models 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7 & 7 Plus currently. They are currently only available for iPhones, but that might change in the future. The most promising aspect of this case is of course the accessory modules, so I'll now turn to discuss some of those which are available now. There is a 4-in-1 camera lens by Olloclip which costs $79. It comes with fisheye, wide-angle, 10x and 15x macro zoom lenses. Also for photography aficionados; there is a tripod made by PolarPro, and a thermal imaging camera attachment.

This car mount retails for $39 and is something that I would be very excited to utilize. You can rotate and angle your phone for optimal viewing while driving, which would be very helpful for me while doing things such as using GPS or selecting music. The magnet on the attachable module snaps to a metal ball which can be inserted in your car vents. In addition to this mount there is also a bike mount by PolarPro.
There a few different battery pack attachments. They promise an extra charge for your phone, which can prove to be very useful if you find yourself out and about very often.
SanDisk manufactures their iXpand Flash Drive for the uniVERSE case. This can be a wonderful tool if you have lots of data on your phone or fill it up rather quickly from taking photos, videos, or other types of files. Simply snap it on, transfer your files over, and then take it off. You can transfer your files over to your PC or Mac afterwards. It comes in 32, 64, and 128 GB size increments.

If you run a small business, then you might be interested in the module made by Square. It's a chip reader that can also use NFC to accept Apple Pay and Android Pay. You can also choose from a couple different wallet modules, like the one below which is made by OtterBox themselves. There's also a barcode scanner by Manatee Works, which can help you keep inventory or look up prices with ease, to be displayed right on your phone screen.

There are even attachments which add a louder speaker to your phone. It can be useful for music, videos, conference calls, and even more.
If the standard black is too dull for you, then you can choose to buy some metallic accent plates to attach on the back for a splash of color. There's a bundle which includes silver, gold, and a rose gold.
When you hear about the uniVERSE case system, it can inspire you to think about all the possible implications and attachments which might come to fruition because of it. And when you look on Otterbox's site, you can see that there are already a large number of options available. And while these might be relatively new, there are still a lot of options to choose from at the moment, with more on the way.
